Additional informations: | Specialization description: The master's programme has a long-term vision to respond to current global challenges, including societal changes in the global economy, population dynamics and rapid urbanisation, the decreasing sustainability of farming systems and ecosystems, the creation and implementation of agrarian policy, climate change adaptation and mitigation, and the increasing pressure on natural resources on which millions of smallholder farmers depend for their livelihoods. The programme's principal objective is to promote a science-based, interdisciplinary approach with the aim of facilitating a paradigm shift towards agroecological, sustainable and highly productive agriculture. This will ensure the long-term sustainability of smallholder farmers' livelihoods and the provision of food for the entire population. Graduate profile: The master's program offers a comprehensive understanding of the economic aspects of tropical agriculture, integrating interdisciplinary perspectives. It equips students with expertise in agricultural research and leadership skills for multidisciplinary teams. The program meets global demand for skilled professionals capable of thriving in multicultural environments. Graduates gain knowledge, analytical skills, and decision-making abilities to address agricultural challenges, develop sustainable policies, and respond to global economic and social changes. Many pursue careers in international organizations, private companies, or as entrepreneurs. The program is ideal for those seeking an individualized approach, smaller classes, and international internships. |
