Tomas Bata University is an open and flexible higher education institution, developed in accordance with five central values: entrepreneurship, openness, usefulness, creativity and responsibility. This is also one of the reasons why TBU counts among the first higher education institutions in the Czech Republic to be awarded the institutional accreditation. TBU offers studies in over 200 accredited degree programmes (1/4 of which are taught in English). The university has modern facilities (including one of the country’s finest university libraries) and an advanced IT infrastructure. Zlín is a medium-sized attractive student town located 300 km east of Prague and close to Vienna.

In the Young University Rankings issued by the reputable British Times Higher Education company in 2020, TBU was ranked 301 – 350. According to the World University Rankings published by the British QS company one year later, our University is ranked 85th among universities situated in Central and Eastern Europe and Central Asia. TBU has a high graduation rate and employability, partners with industrial leaders and plays an active role in the development of local creative industries. In the area of research, TBU has produced significant results mainly in the area of polymer engineering, applied informatics and creative specializations. At the same time, top-class TBU research units offer optimum facilities and opportunities for the provision of classes to students as well as for collaboration with companies and institutions. |

| For international students: | The student body comes from more than 80 countries worldwide. International students are aided by local members of ESN (Buddy System) and can apply for government scholarships. Degree students can study in English or Czech and participate in exchange programmes. |
| International cooperation: | TBU is involved in educational and exchange programmes (Erasmus+, Erasmus Mundus, CEEPUS, AKTION, Norwegian Funds, Visegrad Fund). The university has signed more than 320 Erasmus+ bilateral agreements and over 130 partner agreements with universities in 45 countries. |
