Silesian University in Opava has three faculties – the Faculty of Philosophy and Science in Opava, the School of Business Administration in Karviná, the Faculty of Public Policies in Opava and two independent institutes - the Institute of Mathematics in Opava and the Institute of Physics in Opava. The total number of students is 5280 in approximately 132 study programmes (Bachelor´s, Master´s and Doctoral). The University is a member of the EUA and other international institutions. It uses ECTS system and it is a holder of DS Label.

International cooperation: The University is involved in several international students and teachers Exchange programmes, particularly within the Framework of Erasmus+, CEEPUS, V4, AIA, DAAD etc. It cooperates with more than 100 partners all around the world. Students can spend a part of their studies at one of our partner universities in Europe, Japan, Russia or USA.
