The European Research University is a distinguished non-governmental, non-profit organisation primarily focused on providing accredited undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes, as well as non-degree and lifelong learning programmes. Founded on the principles of openness, inclusivity, equality, and respect for individual needs, the ERUNI is dedicated to delivering education based on a non-profit model. The University holds the status of a Recognised Teaching Centre of the University of London.
Since its inception in 1999, the ERUNI has evolved, gaining government recognition in 2008 and transitioning into a university-type higher education institution in 2023 after rigorous accreditation process. Currently, the ERUNI comprises five constituent parts, including faculties primarily focused on degree programmes and related research activities, as well as colleges dedicated to professional studies and lifelong learning or non-degree programmes . It also encompasses additional organisational units providing tertiary education in accordance with Czech law and works closely with educational institutions within the PRIGO group of schools. The University, together with the entire ERUNI group, thus educates approximately 3,200 students, upholding its commitment to excellence in education and research while fostering social responsibility and international collaboration.
The primary objective of ERUNI is to be an elite research university with special prominence in European education. We focus on high-quality research and its results as well as international cooperation. European Research University is a member of PRIGO Group, a wide group of schools and colleges operating on all levels of education. PRIGO Group, including ERUNI, aims to educate top experts who are able of critical and synthetic thinking, who are gifted with transferable skills and willing not only to pursue lifelong learning but also to accept criticism and pass their knowledge and experience onto others. We will always strive to ensure that our graduates have a natural sense for social responsibility, accept the challenges associated with life in a multi-cultural environment, the development of new technologies and sustainability of economic growth.
Overview
| Institution type: | Private |
| Founded: | 2008 |
| Good At: | Our educational strategy is based on the application of a unique, trademark-protected PriorityGO approach, a combination of individualized teaching, modern didactic methods, and respect for the challenges of contemporary society. Education is viewed as a lifelong philosophy and a continuous approach to life, rather than a means to achieve other goals. The fundamental element for fulfilling the goals of ERUNI is especially the stable and loyal core of academics with a high standard of expertise and appropriate age structure who share common visions and values. |
| Total number of students: | 150 |
| For international students: | ERUNI offers studies exclusively in economically oriented bachelor´s, follow-up master´s and doctoral study programmes in a full-time form. Following the example of prestigious foreign universities, the applicant´s motivation letter is the most important in the admission procedure. The motivation letter should be focused on the applicant´s previous successes, prerequisites, and motivation to study. All students who meet their duties receive a scholarship, which increases with each semester of study. We are preparing our students for a master’s degree at prestigious universities in Great Britain, the USA and other countries, where graduates of our bachelor’s degree programmes can study. In cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic and Eurocentre Ostrava, we are also preparing students for jobs in EU institutions, especially for the EPSO tests (European Personnel Selection Office). |
| International cooperation: | The internationalisation of the European research university is integral to its mission, with a strong emphasis on fostering international research teams and student cohorts. Through interdisciplinary collaboration among scholars from diverse backgrounds, the university enhances the quality and global impact of its research. In education, the university prioritises forming international student groups that collaborate in both academic and extracurricular settings. These experiences promote intercultural understanding, enrich learning, and prepare students for a globalised world. Joint activities, such as cultural events and community projects, further strengthen a sense of global citizenship. This comprehensive approach ensures academic excellence while positioning the university as a leader in the international academic landscape. |
