Další informace: | Specialization description: The Environmental Earth Sciences PhD study programme focuses on research in areas related to environmental modelling, geoinformation systems, remote sensing and geoenvironmental sciences. The research is often characterized as transdisciplinary, combining the following specializations:Environmental Modelling, Environmental Geosciences, Spatial Sciences. Environmental Modelling focuses on monitoring, description and modelling of processes in the environment, especially processes related to hydrosphere and atmosphere. It deals with both physically and numerically oriented modelling of environmental processes and statistical modelling. Typical areas of application are hydrology, hydropedology, hydraulics of surface and subsurface waters, meteorology and climatology, thermomechanics, etc. Environmental Geosciences research activities target a number of aspects of environmental geochemistry (soil geochemistry, modelling of adsorption processes, including the development of reaction-transport models, environmental isotopic geochemistry, study and development of new sorbents and remediation methods for contaminated soils), hydropedology (increase of soil water retention) and geochemical methods in paleoecology. Spatial Sciences research activities are focused on the application of geoinformation technologies, remote sensing and spatially explicit modelling in environmental disciplines. Typical study programme directions using satellite and aerial data (multispectral, hyperspectral, radar / lidar), unmanned systems and other spatial data include, for example, geohazard research, spatio-temporal landscape changes, research on crop structure and health, research into the impact of practical environmental measures in the landscape, climate change research and spatially explicit modelling in biogeography and ecology. An integral part is the focus on the impact of spatial data quality and evaluation scales on the results of environmental research. |
