Additional informations: | Completed Master degree required. The Ph.D. study program History and Philosophy of Science and Technology has an interdisciplinary character. Its main task is to examine the broader philosophical, historical and social conditionality of the origin and development of individual scientific hypotheses, concepts and theories, together with their technical applications. The aim of the program is to further deepen the systematic understanding of issues of philosophy, methodology and history of science and technology. At the same time, philosophy is conceived as a source as well as a critical reflection of the contemporary worldview and the state of knowledge. The program is further focused on understanding and interpreting the historical development of science and scientific knowledge as part of cultural history. Thus, science is not examined in isolation, but in the context of social and cultural contexts - both in terms of the conditions for the emergence of scientific knowledge and its consequences, which are mainly technical development. Technology as a consequence of scientific development is reflected especially with regard to how technical development changes the concept of man and his relationship to the world. In addition to the traditional historical-philosophical research of the history of science and technology, the program also creates space for theoretical reflection on new technologies, thus establishing a platform for interdisciplinary research, especially on the border of philosophy of language and mind, artificial intelligence and cognitive sciences. |
